Freshjive - What A Long Strange Trip It's Been

"A verbal and visual trip with Rick Klotz through the last 21 years of his dysfunctional life with Freshjive."

From the press release:
As every life is unique so is every story, so it would be a fallacy to say that any is more unique than the next, but sometimes that fallacy is hard to deny. Now in it's 21st annum, Freshjive's founder and creative ingénue Rick Klotz recounts some of the most interesting, funny and memorable personal experiences from his tenure with the ground breaking street culture brand.
"What a Long Strange Trip It's Been" is presented as a gallery exhibit of visual memorabilia along with a lecture/discussion by Klotz and an accompanying fanzine.  From crack head porn stars and celebrity standoffs to million dollar corporate law suits and the loss of his father, this time capsule provides a 21 chapter glimpse into a mind that has undoubtedly taken the road less travelled.

"What a Long Strange Trip It's Been - 21 Years of My Dysfunctional Life with Freshjive" opens September 23rd at  Off The Hook in Montreal and September 24th at NRML in Ottawa.

One Way Or Another

Contributor have teamed up with Society6 and Club Mumble to curate another great art show. "Building on the success of last year's group show, "One Way Or Another" plays upon the personal nature of a skateboard. Things like how you grip your board, how loose your trucks are, and heck, how you know that the size of your wheels down to the slightest of millimeters will make the hugest difference. In the end, this little wooden toy seems to be made just for you.
Curators Andy Jenkins, Bob Kronbauer, Sandro Grison, Justin Cooper, Mike Giles and Annie Lam have brought together a great list of 40 artists each ready to create original art on full size maple decks just for the buyer. That's right, when the buyer finishes the online check out then and only then is the artist/studio commissioned to create the work of art with all of the proceeds going towards getting skateboards to kids across Canada!
The webstore is up and running as we speak and will close on August 15th!
